This event is open to all families living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy! Bring the siblings, the aunts, the uncles, the grandparents and anyone else in your support system who would like to join us! This will be a fun, educational and social event with great food, drinks, activities, games and time to reflect on all the things we have to be grateful for this year!

Every individual living with Duchenne (and siblings) will get to choose a special advent calendar to take home and there will be other fun surprises for families too!

Travel scholarships are available! We do not want any obstacles keeping families from being able to attend!

A resource fair, showcasing information from our sponsors and vendors, will also be available!

With guidance from our instructor, students will explore ProCreate through mini lessons tailored to their interests and skill levels. Each participant will also have the opportunity to work on personal projects in a fun, creative, and supportive environment.

Join us for an evening focused on nutrition, community, and healthy living with Duchenne.

What to Expect:

• An interactive presentation from a registered dietitian on dietary best practices for Duchenne, including the importance of a heart-healthy diet and other key considerations for individuals living with Duchenne.

• A delicious, thoughtfully prepared dinner crafted by our caterer to incorporate as many Duchenne-specific dietary recommendations as possible.

• An opportunity for families to connect, share, and strengthen their support systems.

• A free Aerogarden (hydroponics garden growing system) for each household to take home to grow the same herbs and veggies used in our dinner and discussed in our presentation!

This Zoom meeting is for anyone who wants to learn more about resources for public, private, and homeschool models that can help individuals living with Duchenne and other complex medical conditions have the BEST educational experience possible. IEPs, 504s, Indiana School Choice and ESA programs will all be discussed. If your loved one has an IEP, ISP ESASP or 504 plan, please have it handy! Come to learn and come to share!

The instructor will teach a few basic skills for using Procreate and participants will have time to create while also socializing and building friendships with others navigating a similar journey - living with Duchenne. Caregivers are welcome to stay on-site and spend some time together or take some alone time at the coffee shop downstairs or in a quiet corner close to the class! This class takes place in downtown Indianapolis at an accessible location with free, easy parking. Register below and someone from our team will be in touch with logistics!
